Program Director Charla Cochran Resigns
We want to share the exciting news that Program Director Charla Cochran will be moving this summer to Los Angeles to pursue new adventures and therefore will be resigning from her position at Children’s Dance Foundation. She will be with us through our spring performances and into part of the summer.
We have been so fortunate to have her as part of the CDF family since 1997 – and Program Director since 1999.
We’re thrilled for Charla and wish her every success!

June 20: MEREDITH RILEY STEWART
Born and raised in Alabama, Meredith graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and has been dancing professionally ever since. She is a performer in many respects, dancing for seven seasons as a principal dancer with Jeanne Ruddy Dance (www.ruddydance.org). She has also acted and danced in numerous stage productions at regional theaters. She danced across the small screen in the first season of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. This summer, she will play the role of “Shelby” in Cape May Stage’s production of Steel Magnolias, opposite multiple Tony and Emmy winners. Meredith has studied with many great teachers including Jeanne Ruddy, Ken Topping, Mary Anthony, Milton Myers and Dana Moore. She has worked with renowned choreographers such as Ann Reinking, Mark Dendy, Susanna Linke and Martha Clarke. Meredith’s class will be based in classic modern dance, focusing on Graham floor work and progressing into center work inspired by both Graham and Taylor techniques. Meredith always infuses her training with a Pilates warm up and will share many “nuggets” about technique, performance and dance history that she has learned in her career. Class will culminate in an excerpt from Jeanne Ruddy’s most renowned piece, Significant Soil.
A native of Houston, Texas, Paul began training at Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy. He danced with Houston Ballet in the corps de ballet and eventually became a first soloist. Currently, he is the Artistic Director of Atlanta Dance Project, a professional modern dance company designed to develop the art of movement for the community.
